'You can't kill me. I'm an idea, I'm timeless.'

That's what Eddie Meltzer told NPR, just days after the mass shooting at Pulse nightclub in Orlando. He'd left the club only five minutes before the killing began; he returned to volunteer as an interpreter for victims' families. "That was tearing me apart," he says. "I was so close. It could have been me."
